Solar panels installed to 1000 homes in Nottinghamshire will help reduce fuel poverty

June 22, 2015

A solar energy scheme for Bassetlaw District Council and A1 Housing is helping to reduce fuel poverty in the area.

Norse Energy has invested £4m in the installation of 3kw PV systems to the roofs of around 1000 social housing units managed by A1 Housing.

The project will provide tenants with free energy, and also generate additional revenue for Bassetlaw District Council to help support its Energy Fund which is tackling the issue of fuel poverty experienced by many living in the district.

A further scheme to provide similar benefits to A1 Housing’s remaining property portfolio is also now in progress.
